Surfing has been my passion since I stood up on my first wave when I was 13 years old and why I’ve chosen a career in professional surfing. I am also a travel lover, I love to experience new places, try new food and learn about new cultures and languages.

Surfing and the ocean have taught me so much about myself and given me a deep appreciation and love for nature. This inspired me to study a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Management which I recently completed. One thing I’ve learnt is that if people are educated on environmental issues they are empowered and given the opportunity to choose the best way in which they can tackle their impacts on the natural environment. I believe that small habitual changes can result in even bigger changes. I hope that through my actions I can inspire others to make changes that would benefit the environment. I know I am imperfectly eco-conscious, but the most important thing is to try and do better.

I am a member of the International Surfing Association’s (ISA) Athletes’ Commission. Here I am not only the voice of the surfers to help improve competition and the experience, but to also develop and incorporate more environmentally sustainable initiatives into competitions.
