We’re incredibly excited to announce something new for Protect Our Paths - our first-ever product collection. This range is made up of simple, practical pieces designed to move with you through our natural playgrounds. Whether you're heading up the mountain, going for a trail run, or jumping in the ocean for a morning dip, these products are built to come along for the ride.
Protect Our Paths is built on the belief that we all have a role to play in keeping our trails, oceans and beaches clean and safe for everyone to enjoy. And now, with this product collection, there’s another way to be part of it.
Products With a Purpose
Our first Protect Our Paths collection is small but meaningful. Each product is designed to raise awareness while also helping people take action.
The Protect our Paths Trail Mate is a small, upcycled and handmade product built for the outdoors. It clips easily onto a backpack or belt loop so that when you’re out exploring, you’ve got a place to collect litter instead of walking past it. It’s a simple idea that makes it easier for anyone to take small actions while out enjoying nature. When it’s not being used for litter collection, the Trail Mate can also double as:
- Your go-to snack bag, clipping onto your bag or belt whilst on your adventures
- A small gear pouch, keeping your everyday essentials organised and protected
- A trusty sidekick for beach dips, keeping your wet gear or those post-adventure socks neatly contained.
- A wax bag!
It’s one of those pieces where the use is really up to you.
In true Sealand style, each piece is handmade in Cape Town using upcycled kite material, giving old materials a second life. The fabric is durable and washable, which makes it perfect for the outdoors.
The Protect Our Paths Tee features a design inspired by Sealand’s Mutant Fish artwork.
The design draws attention to the growing problem of plastic pollution in our oceans, particularly microplastics. These tiny plastic particles - smaller than 5 mm - have already been found in the bodies of over 890 species of fish worldwide. A problem that is currently leaving us with the daunting reality. At this current rate - by 2050 there will be more plastics in the ocean than fish. It’s a stark reminder of why initiatives like Protect Our Paths exist in the first place. The tee is made with:

It’s designed to be comfortable, long-lasting, and to help spread the message about protecting the places we love - and the dangers if we don't.
