Job Title: Sales Assistant (Johannesburg Stores)

Job Overview:
The Sealand Retail Assistant is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining store presentation, achieving sales targets, and ensuring smooth store operations. This role involves both opening and closing duties, including managing merchandise, assisting with customers daily, sales, sales and more sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Product Knowledge:
- Serve customers by sharing the Sealand story and provide accurate product knowledge.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and timely communication, especially regarding pick-up orders.
- Ensuring repairs/returns processes are followed correctly while maintaining a 'gold standard' of customer service
- Ensuring a positive and charismatic approach to customers.
Store Opening:
- Power on necessary equipment, including Bluetooth speakers, scent machine, TV/iPads, and fan/air conditioning.
- Check the store for correct merchandising, ensuring there are no empty spaces on the shelves.
- Begin the day’s sales tracking using Shopify POS and ensure paper and shopper bags are stocked at the front desk.
- Call customers with orders ready for pick-up, keeping communication timely and clear.
Sales & Targets:
- Review the daily sales target and track progress throughout the day.
- Ensure customer orders are processed smoothly, and the store is fully stocked for customers.
Store Closing:
- Power off store equipment, including Bluetooth speakers, scent machine, TV/iPads, and fan/air conditioning.
- Print and compile the day’s sales report and merchant receipts, then secure them in the till.
- Activate store alarm for security.
End-of-Day Reporting:
- Send a comprehensive report to the Sealand Retail WhatsApp group, including the following details:
Branch name
Foot count
Converted sales
Total sales revenue
Skills and Requirements:
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- 1-2 years retail experience (Preferred)
- Familiarity with the Sealand brand and product knowledge.
- Ability to use POS systems (ERPLY) and other in-store equipment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet sales targets and work under pressure.
- Comfortable dealing with customers from all “walks of life”.
- Must be reliable and responsible for store opening and closing duties.
